Best arrival time for families

Families are welcome throughout the afternoon. Many choose to arrive from around 2pm onwards, giving children time to explore the garden paths while adults can relax and enjoy the setting.
Late afternoon is particularly pleasant, as the light softens and the gardens become quieter. Families often combine their visit with time in the Farm Shop or a relaxed Tasting Bar sitting before heading home.
Children are encouraged to explore, discover the different garden spaces, and enjoy the experience at their own pace.

Do I need a ticket to enter the gardens?

Accepted Answer

Yes. To enter the Giardini Pistola terraces, every person needs a Garden Entrance ticket.

These can be bought online or at the Farm Shop on the same day.  With a Garden Entrance ticket you can enter and spend as long as you like wandering and enjoying the gardens.

For Kids aged 12 and under - the price of the Garden Entrance Ticket for them is €0. Kids go free.

Please note that when you book Tasting Bar, or Golden Hour Aperitivo or Garden Tour - these tickets include Garden Entrance.

Kids 12 and under go free.
For Kids aged 12 and under - the price of the Garden Entrance Ticket for them is €0.

Are the gardens suitable for children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Children are very welcome at Giardini Pistola.

The gardens offer open spaces, jumping pillow, maze, winding paths, and areas where children can explore and discover the landscape at their own pace.
Families often find the gardens a calm and enjoyable place for children to experience nature.

Can I bring my own picnic or food to the Giardini?

Accepted Answer

No. Food or picnics being brought from outside is not allowed at the Giardini.

Please book Tasting Bar, or Golden Hour Aperitivo.

Is there food or drink available?

Accepted Answer

Guests can visit the Tasting Bar on selected days for wine, olive oil, or honey tastings. Light aperitivo options are also available during certain experiences such as Golden Hour Aperitivo.

The Farm Shop offers a selection of local products and estate goods to take away and enjoy at home.

Accepted Answer

Most visitors spend 60–90 minutes exploring the gardens, although many choose to stay longer, particularly in the late afternoon when the light softens across the valley.
Some guests combine their visit with time at the Farm Shop or a Tasting Bar sitting, which can extend the experience further.

What should we wear when visiting the gardens?

Accepted Answer

Comfortable footwear is recommended, as some garden paths are natural gravel and slightly uneven in places. Often guests dress to suit to occasion.

During the warmer months, light clothing, a hat, and sun protection are advisable. In spring and autumn, it can be pleasant to bring a light layer for the late afternoon.

Above all, dress comfortably and be ready to wander the gardens at your own pace.

Are dogs allowed in the gardens?

Accepted Answer

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Giardini Pistola when kept on a lead.

As the gardens are a shared space for visitors, we ask owners to ensure dogs remain under control and respectful of the planting, wildlife, and other guests.

Water is available on request, and shaded areas throughout the gardens provide comfortable places to pause during warmer days.

Can we bring a stroller or buggy?

Accepted Answer

Yes, strollers are welcome.  PLEASE NOTE Some paths are natural gravel and may be slightly uneven in places, so sturdier buggies are recommended.
Many families find it easy to move through the gardens at a relaxed pace.

Can children attend Golden Hour?

Accepted Answer

Golden Hour Aperitivo is a peaceful romantic moment for couple of families to savour the sunset light. 
Children are of course welcome but we suggest that they stay on Terrace 1 to make use of the Jumping Pillow and the Maze.

Parents should note that Golden Hour includes aperitivo drinks for adults.
